ALL BREED SHOW - These shows are open to all purebred
dogs which are not eligable to compete at Canadian Kennel Club
shows or are not presently on the Canadian Kennel Club list of
"Recognized Breeds". A list of show dates and locations can be
found on the Rare Breed Club of South Western Ontario web
site. These shows are judged by North American or FCI
sanctioned judges. Dog's can earn their "Canadian Rare Breed
Championship" at these events.
MOLOSSER SPECIALTY - This "Specialty" show is offered by
the Canadian Molosser Club and is hosted at the Rare Breed
Club of South Western Ontario's March and October shows each
year. This show is open to all FCI recognized "Molosser Breeds"
that may or may not be presently recognized by the Canadian
Kennel Club on their list of "Recognized Breeds". These shows
are judged by FCI sanctioned judges and dogs can earn their
"Canadian Molosser Championship" title through these events.
HERDING GROUP SPECIALTY - This "Specialty" show is
offered by the Herding Group members and is hosted at various
Rare Breed Club of South Western Ontario's shows each year.
These shows are open to all breeds presently listed on the Rare
Breed Club of South Western Ontario "GROUP 2" list of breeds
These shows are judged by North American or FCI sanctioned
judges and dogs can earn their "Canadian Herding Group
Championship" title through these events.
BREED SPECIALTIES - These Specialty shows are for a single
breed and are offered by a variety of breed clubs to promote
their individual breed within the rare breed community and the
canine fancy as a whole. These shows can be judged by North
American or FCI sanctioned judges and dogs earn points
towards their respective breed club titles.
ALTERED CLASSES - In 2002, we began offering an "Altered
Class." Any registered CKC or Rare Breed dog may compete in
this class, provided it has been spayed or neutered. These
classes are offered at all Rare Breed Club of South Western
Ontario shows and maybe judged by North American or FCI
sanctioned judges. Dog's can earn their "Canadian Rare Breed
Altered Championship" at these events.
